Webb International has more complaints on the internet than any other school and their primary agent is a disarming Chinese woman named Rebecca Tang which her former teachers call "The Dragon Lady" because she makes as much money from her own students than she does from the schools that are supposed to be her real clients. In short she is so greedy she collects at both ends.
But the worse part is that she does not honor her contracts and make her own teachers pay bogus fines that she deducts from their pay and then demands money at the end of the contract (2,000 rmb) to get a release letter that the law says she must give - not sell! But there is a much bigger problem that is better explained by this person...
I received a copy of a petition to the Minister of Justice signed by 1,189 foreign teachers asking for the arrest and prosecution of this woman who apparently is quite infamous in Beijing.

This came with the email and explains why they are fed up with her... This wealthy Beijing woman has been exploiting foreign teachers for 8 years. There one big problem however.
When these teachers expose her on expat Forums like Beijinger and EChinacities.com, Rebecca goes and buys a few thousand dollars of adspace and guess what? All those negative posts about her theft and extortion just disappear!
At this moment a handfull of examples still remain at Beijinger and one post that wa slocked at Echinacities.com. But here is how someone else explains it better than me... "Very shady manipulations going on at expat forums in China regarding CHINA ESL & FRAUDSTER REBECCA TANG... Three weeks ago I counted 39 scam complaints against Rebecca Tang and her China ESL all over the internet including some at EChinaCities.com,
TheBeijinger.com and a handful of ESL sites - ALL ARE SITES WHERE REBECCA PAYS FOR ADVERTISING and also has dozens of free ads posted.
This week, all those bad comments are missing - just disappeared into thin air. Except at the Beijinger, they left up one link from 2007 which is full of first-time posters saying wonderful things about the most crooked agent in China.
The CFTU said they received more complaints about China ESL than any 10 other schools put together. She uses her wealth to buy silence and cooperation with paid advertising. So the expat forums is her recruiting tool and even after many users of those forums repeatedly exposed her, the advertisments remain but all the complaints disappear.

By the way, a poster named "Bannoy" and others had found an posted about 50 posts at the Beijinger all pointing to very dishonest and criminal dealings of this woman, and Bannoy's entire thread going back to 2009 was deleted - to get rid of the China ESL fraud evidence.
This woman buys her way out of problems by buy advertising space in the only media she can be exposed! The Expat Forums!
