Institute Review
I noticed that this post was from 2013 and for some reason the 2014 salary charts are gone, so I nagged the CFTU to send me the current 2015 figures and it is here at but they told me the AP Teacher chart is not compiles yet and will be posted with in the next week.  As you may know the AP subject teachers are the best-paid in China, some earning $6,000 a month.  Here is what I noticed from the CFTU charts:

17 countries pay ESL Teachers better than China and 23 pay worse based on a full-time schedule. Many will argue that is not a fair assessment because China has a low cost of living. Personally I don't buy that argument because we are all temporary visitors who who cannot own real-estate and cannot collect a pension here. Many of us still have bills, debts, mortgages, and student loans to repay in euros, dollars, pesos back home.  Perhaps for young single teachers without student loans to repay, China can be quite "comfortable" earning twice what the average Chinese earn or even more. I suppose everything is relative.

HEY GUYS DO YOU KNOW WE HAVE A COMMUNITY FORUM SECTION GOING ON?  You're all welcome to come rant, rave and vent. Here's the link for the China section...  Some join us and share your opinions and ideas with our teaching colleagues.
