This unique Korean writing system consists of 14 consonants and 10 vowels combined to make a total of 11,172 syllables. The Korean alphabet is easy and simple to use and was registered as a UNESCO Memory of the world in 1997. More and more people in Chia and Southeast Asia are learning hangeul today then ever.
There are also many hangeul lessons geared towards foreigners at major unversities in Seoul.
