Medical facilities in Korea include general hospitals, hospitals, medical clinics, Oriental medical hospitals, and public health centers.
Korean medical facilities are provided into three categories based on a number of medical departments in operation and the size of the facility.
In order to use the medical services of a third-tier medical facility, patients need to receive a referral from their first or second-tier hospital. Foreigners can go directly to international clinics availablew at third-tier hospitals without referrals, but it costs more. For faster service, advance reservations are recommended.
